Public Skating Rules & Recommendations

  1. Respect staff at all times.  When a whistle or alarm sounds, listen to and follow staff instructions.
  2. Staff at Brandon's community Sportsplex stronly encourage all public skate participants to wear a properly fitted and CSA approved helmet secured with a fitted chin strap throughout the duration of time spent on the ice surface.  Helmets & skates can be rented at the front office for a nominal fee.
  3. Children under the age of 7 must be actively supervised by a responsible person aged 16 or older.
  4. Only persons with skates are permitted on the ice surface.
  5. The middle of the ice surface is reserved for children and less confident skaters.
  6. Horseplay will not be tolerated (i.e. throwing snowballs, pushing, fighting).
  7. Skating aids are to be used only to aid a novice skater in skating.
  8. Pucks and sticks are not permitted.
  9. Report all accidents or injuries to staff immediately.

The City of Brandon is not liable for any personal injury, loss or damage to personal property that may result from arena use.  Arena staff may establish and enforce additional rules as deemed necessary.  Violation of any of these rules may result in loss of public skating privileges.
